Excimer laser processing is a non-thermal processing technology that removes material by irradiating it with short-wavelength pulsed laser light in the deep ultraviolet region, causing photochemical bond breaking (ablation). Because the heat-affected zone is extremely small, it achieves high-precision and high-quality microfabrication while minimizing thermal damage. It is widely used in fine pattern formation and lithography in semiconductor manufacturing, TFT annealing in FPD manufacturing, micro-drilling and cutting of catheters and stents for medical devices, and MEMS device manufacturing. It supports a wide range of materials such as organic materials, ceramics, and thin metal films, and is attracting attention as an indispensable technology for manufacturing high-value-added products.
