Their production involves a combination of CNC machining, electrical discharge machining, grinding, polishing, heat treatment, and surface treatment, and in recent years, 3D printing has also been utilized. Mold making is a fundamental technology that underpins "monozukuri" (manufacturing), and the ability to efficiently produce high-precision, high-durability molds is a crucial factor in determining product cost, quality, and productivity.
