About Etching
Glass mirror polishing is a precision processing technology that finishes glass surfaces to an optically extremely smooth and glossy state. It removes microscopic irregularities and scratches, achieving high transparency, reflectivity, and flatness. Its main applications are in fields requiring high optical properties and aesthetic quality, such as optical lenses, prisms, mask substrates for semiconductor manufacturing, high-definition displays, medical devices, and high-grade building materials. The processing method involves first shaping the glass through rough polishing using diamond abrasive grains. Then, precision polishing, combining fine abrasive grains such as cerium oxide with polishing pads (e.g., pitch, polyurethane), smooths the surface at an atomic level through chemical and mechanical action. In the final finishing, subsurface damage is reduced to the absolute minimum.
