LCD and Plasma TVs were once key technologies that led the flat-panel display market. LCDs achieved high definition and power saving through backlight and liquid crystal molecule alignment control, while Plasma Displays (PDPs), with their self-emissive method, were characterized by high contrast and fast response times. Their manufacturing required advanced process technologies such as TFT array formation, color filter manufacturing, cell assembly, and module integration. Their applications were not limited to consumer televisions but extended to a wide range, including commercial displays and signage. In the manufacturing industry, the development of panel manufacturing equipment, inspection equipment, and high-performance materials, as well as the optimization of the entire supply chain, were important service areas. Although plasma technology has now been discontinued, its technological insights have greatly contributed to the evolution of LCDs and the development of next-generation displays (such as OLEDs).
