About Metal injection molding (MIM)
Cast steel refers to both the manufacturing process of forming molten steel material into a predetermined shape by pouring it into a mold and allowing it to solidify, and the product resulting from this process. There are various types, including carbon steel castings and alloy steel castings. It is characterized by higher tensile strength, toughness, impact resistance, and excellent weldability compared to cast iron. Because complex-shaped parts can be manufactured as a single piece, it is widely used for large parts that are difficult to machine, and for structural components requiring high reliability. Typical applications include turbine casings, valve bodies, construction machinery parts, and marine components. After casting, heat treatments such as normalizing or quenching and tempering are performed to improve microstructure and relieve stress, and dimensional accuracy is ensured by machining or other methods as needed.
