Sand casting is the most common casting method, where molten metal is poured into a mold primarily composed of sand, allowed to cool and solidify, thereby producing products. Its greatest features are the ability to manufacture shapes with complex internal structures and large parts, a low initial investment compared to permanent mold manufacturing, and the capability to handle production from high-mix low-volume to mass production at a relatively low cost.
