Lost-wax casting is a type of precision casting method where a prototype (pattern) made of wax is covered and hardened with ceramics. The wax is then melted out by heating (dewaxing), creating a cavity into which molten metal is poured. A key feature of this method is the use of a "sacrificial pattern." Because it can integrally form parts with complex shapes and fine details with high precision, it is particularly effective for shapes that are difficult to achieve with machining or for areas that would otherwise require combining multiple parts.
