About Porous plastic prototype
Prototyping of plastic porous bodies is a process aimed at functional evaluation and design optimization before mass production, for materials that are endowed with functionalities derived from porous structures such as filtration, sound absorption, adsorption, thermal insulation, and biocompatibility, in addition to plastic properties like lightweightness, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation. To optimize parameters such as pore size, porosity, interconnectivity, and shape, rapid prototyping and evaluation are essential. Representative processing methods include foam molding, powder sintering, solvent casting, and additive manufacturing (3D printing), which can directly form complex internal structures. In a wide range of applications such as filters, medical devices, battery separators, and sound-absorbing materials, we aim to establish material design and manufacturing processes that achieve both the required functions and performance.
