About Spot welding
CO2 welding is a type of consumable electrode arc welding that uses carbon dioxide (CO2) as a shielding gas. The welding wire is continuously fed, melting due to the arc heat and integrating with the base metal. Its primary features are its fast welding speed and excellent welding efficiency. Equipment costs are also relatively low, making it easy to implement, and thus it is widely used in the manufacturing industry. Its main applications include the welding of medium-thick plates for automotive parts, construction machinery, bridges, shipbuilding, and general structures. While deep penetration can be achieved, there is also the challenge of high spatter generation, but this can be addressed by optimizing the wire and welding conditions. It is utilized across a wide range of automation levels, from semi-automatic welding to robotic welding.
