About CO2 welding
Projection welding is a type of resistance welding that concentrates electric current at projections (protuberances) created on one or both of the workpieces to be joined. It utilizes the heat generated at these points to melt and join the materials. As these projections are crushed by pressure, they form a stable nugget, enabling uniform weld quality and multi-point simultaneous welding. Since current density can be controlled by the shape of the projections, it is suitable for joining thin sheets and dissimilar metals, and also has the advantage of leaving less noticeable weld marks. It is widely adopted in mass production lines, primarily for automotive parts (welding nuts, bolts, and brackets), home appliances, and electrical/electronic components, achieving high-efficiency and high-quality joints.
