About Cutting
Cutting is a general term for processing technologies that separate materials into specified shapes and dimensions. It is not only used to create the final shape of parts but also widely employed as a pre-treatment to facilitate processing in subsequent steps. Typical methods include mechanical cutting such as "shearing," which cuts metal sheets with a blade, "sawing and abrasive cutting," which uses saws and grinding wheels, and "milling" and "turning," which remove material with rotating tools. Additionally, special processing methods are included, such as "laser cutting," "plasma cutting," and "gas cutting," which utilize thermal energy; "waterjet cutting," which uses high-pressure water streams; and "wire electrical discharge machining," which utilizes electrical discharge. The optimal processing method is selected by comprehensively considering factors such as the type of material, plate thickness, required precision, productivity, and cost.
