About Machining (resin)
Pipe manufacturing is a processing category that produces tubular components for transporting fluids such as liquids, gases, and powders. Its characteristics include a hollow structure and the requirement for high airtightness and pressure resistance. Its applications are diverse, covering a wide range from infrastructure to industrial machinery, including oil and gas transportation, water and sewage systems, chemical plants, automotive parts, and building structural materials. Typical manufacturing methods are broadly divided into "seamless pipes," which have no seams, and "welded pipes," which are formed and welded from sheet material. For seamless pipes, the Mannesmann process and extrusion method, which involve piercing and rolling steel billets, are predominant and suitable for high-pressure applications. Welded pipes are joined by Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) or Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) after roll forming, and are used for large-diameter and long pipes. Materials vary widely, including carbon steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and resins.
