Automatic lathes are turning machines that automatically perform processes from material feeding to machining and product discharge using NC control. When combined with a bar feeder, long hours of unattended operation become possible, achieving high-precision and high-efficiency mass production. They are widely used for manufacturing precise and complex-shaped parts, especially in automotive components, medical devices, electronic equipment, and hydraulic/pneumatic parts, flexibly accommodating everything from high-mix low-volume production to mass production. Typical machining methods include outer and inner diameter cutting, facing, threading, grooving, and drilling. In recent years, multi-tasking machines capable of milling and back machining have become mainstream, enabling integrated processing where multiple steps are completed on a single machine.
