About Lathe machining (resin)
"Resin Machining" is a technique that uses NC-controlled machining centers to cut resin materials. Similar to metal machining, it allows for the production of complex three-dimensional shapes and high-precision parts, making it suitable for prototypes and high-mix, low-volume production. However, unlike metals, resins have low thermal conductivity and low melting points, which often leads to challenges such as deformation, melting, burr formation, and warping due to cutting heat. Therefore, it is crucial to select appropriate cutting tools, optimize cutting conditions such as low speed and high feed rates, and devise effective cooling methods. This technique supports various resins like POM, PEEK, MC Nylon, and acrylic, and is widely used for jigs, functional parts, and components in medical devices and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
