A disc spring is a conical, disc-shaped spring that deforms when subjected to an axial load, generating a large reactive force. It is a mechanical element. Its characteristic feature is its ability to support high loads in a small space. In addition to being used individually, stacking them allows for the achievement of nonlinear spring characteristics and large strokes. Main applications include preventing bolts and nuts from loosening, adjusting bearing preload, clutch and brake mechanisms, safety valves, and load adjustment in precision equipment. For manufacturing, spring steel or stainless steel is typically press-formed, then heat-treated and shot-peened.
