FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) is a composite material made by solidifying reinforcing fibers such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, and aramid fiber with thermosetting resins like unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin. While being lightweight, it possesses high specific strength and specific stiffness, along with excellent corrosion resistance, weather resistance, electrical insulation, and dimensional stability. Due to these characteristics, it contributes to the replacement of metal materials and performance enhancement in a wide range of fields, including aircraft and automotive parts, ships, wind turbine blades, building materials, piping, and sporting goods. Typical processing methods include hand lay-up, spray-up, RTM (Resin Transfer Molding), autoclave molding, and pultrusion. The optimal molding method is selected based on the product's shape, required properties, and production volume. Design and molding that consider anisotropy due to fiber orientation are crucial.
