About Connor Shah
Heat resistance refers to the material property of maintaining physical properties such as mechanical strength, chemical stability, and dimensional stability even in high-temperature environments. It is essential for components used in harsh environments such as aerospace, automotive engines, power generation plants, and industrial furnaces. To achieve this property, heat-resistant metallic materials like nickel-based superalloys, titanium alloys, and special stainless steels, as well as heat-resistant ceramics such as alumina, zirconia, and SiC, are used. Due to the high hardness, poor machinability, and low thermal conductivity of these materials, special tools, processing conditions, and cooling methods are required for processes such as cutting, grinding, welding, and heat treatment. Furthermore, surface modification techniques like thermal spraying and PVD/CVD are widely employed to impart heat resistance to existing materials.
