SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) is a representative general-purpose synthetic rubber produced by copolymerizing styrene and butadiene. It is the second most produced rubber after natural rubber, and its excellent abrasion resistance, heat aging resistance, and good processability lead to its use in a wide range of fields. In particular, it is frequently used in the tread portion of automotive tires, where a balance between wet grip performance and rolling resistance is required. It is also widely applied in industrial rubber products such as shoe soles, belts, hoses, gaskets, and anti-vibration rubber. As for processing methods, it is common to form the kneaded material into the final product shape through injection molding, compression molding, extrusion molding, and other techniques. It also offers excellent cost performance, making it one of the indispensable materials in manufacturing.
