Thixomolding is an advanced processing technology that utilizes the thixotropic properties of metallic materials to perform injection molding in a semi-molten state (a slurry in a solid-liquid coexisting state). Compared to conventional die casting, it molds at lower temperatures, which reduces the thermal load on the mold and contributes to extending mold life. Furthermore, it suppresses the generation of porosity, an internal defect, and can manufacture parts with high strength and high dimensional accuracy. Since heat treatment is also possible, it is widely adopted in fields where weight reduction and high functionality are required, such as automotive parts, electronic device housings, and aerospace components.
