Degreasing is a pre-treatment process that chemically or physically removes organic contaminants such as cutting oil, rust preventive oil, pressing oil, and grease adhering to the surface of parts and materials during the manufacturing process. This is essential for ensuring the quality of subsequent processes such as painting, plating, bonding, welding, and heat treatment. If oil remains, it can lead to serious problems such as poor adhesion, peeling, defects, and material degradation. Typical degreasing methods include solvent degreasing using organic solvents, alkaline degreasing using alkaline aqueous solutions, and aqueous degreasing using neutral detergents and surfactants. It is also common to combine these methods with physical means such as ultrasonic cleaning or high-pressure cleaning to enhance the cleaning effect. The optimal degreasing method is selected based on the material of the object, the type of oil, and the required quality of the subsequent process.
