Glass is a solid material with an amorphous structure, characterized by excellent transparency, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation, while also being brittle. Its main applications are diverse, including architectural window materials, optical lenses, display substrates, containers, medical devices, and electronic components. As for processing methods, it is common to melt raw materials at high temperatures to produce flat glass using the float process, and containers using press molding or blow molding. Furthermore, mechanical processing such as cutting, polishing, drilling, and etching, as well as chemical processing, and thermal or chemical strengthening treatments to enhance strength, are also widely performed. Through these processing technologies, glass products with diverse functions and shapes are manufactured.
