Joining technology that realizes man-hour reduction and quality stabilization through Friction Stir Welding (FSW)
Joining Technology for Man-Hour Reduction and Quality Stability with Friction Stir Welding (FSW)
Ohno Seikou Vietnam proposes Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technology that supports dissimilar material joining and improved assembly efficiency for cooling plates.
■ Overview
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining technology that joins base materials without melting them. It achieves joining by inserting a rotating tool into the joint and utilizing frictional heat and plastic flow. It is particularly suitable for joining dissimilar materials and processing lightweight metals such as aluminum.
Ohno Seikou utilizes this FSW technology to achieve man-hour reduction for cooling plates and stable joining of dissimilar materials.
■ Features
Enables low-distortion joining as it does not involve melting
Supports joining of dissimilar materials
Simplifies the assembly process for cold plates
A safe joining method that does not generate spatter or harmful gases
Real-time monitoring of quality status during joining is possible
■ Capabilities
Continuous measurement of tool tip and shoulder temperatures from tool insertion to completion of joining
Quantitative monitoring of workpiece surface temperature, spindle load, etc.
Utilized for quality control by "visualizing" temperature changes during joining
Derives optimal joining conditions through 3-point simultaneous measurement using the MULTI INTELLIGENCE function
Ohno Seikou has its own factory in Vietnam and also supports technology introduction to local production sites. By utilizing FSW, we aim to achieve both quality and efficiency at the production site.
